They should be able to make connections with other disciplines (anatomy, physiology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging), in order to reach the final diagnosis. They should be able to use appropriate scientific language to communicate with colleagues without misunderstandings, and they should know the indications and how to perform the main small animal soft tissue surgeries, as well as potential complications encountered.
In the practical part of the course students will acquire confidence with the surgical/sterile environment, they will perform simple soft tissue surgical procedures and they will learn how to approach small and large animals safely.
