Course units and programme of study

The programme of study is the set of compulsory and elective courses that the student must take in order to graduate.
Submission of the programme of study for your year of enrolment is compulsory and is required, in particular, for registration for examinations and for completion of the teaching evaluation questionnaires.
All current students must submit their programme of study online via the Esse3 system. The programme of study may differ according to the academic year of enrolment ('cohort'); it may also provide for a choice between different study paths ('curriculum').

How the programme of study works

The list of course units in the programme of study represents all the training activities available for each of the years of the degree course and changes according to the year in which the student enrols. Free-choice or restricted-choice subjects are optional learning activities that students may include in their programme of study according to the choice criteria specified on this page; the remaining subjects are compulsory for all students.
The programme of study must be submitted online by students for each year using the ESSE3 system (see dedicated section).
Students are allowed to submit their own programme of study with options other than those presented on this page (and available in ESSE3), as long as it is consistent with achieving the course's educational objectives. In that case, the programme must be submitted to the Course Council for approval.

OFA (Additional Educational Obligation), rules and propaedeuticity

Students who have been allocated the Additional Educational Obligation (OFA) (see also the following link https://corsi.unipr.it/it/node/10883 in more detail) are obliged to take the "General Mathematics" exam before they can take any exam in the 2nd year.

Students who have not yet removed their OFA at the time of enrolment in the 2nd year may still enrol in the 2nd year, but as long as the examination has not been passed, they may only sit the 1st year examinations for which they may be in debt.

Those who have obtained the OFA (even in previous years) will not be able to remove it by repeating the test in the calendar years following the year of enrolment, but only by passing 'General Mathematics' before the 2nd year examinations.

The sequence of examinations as laid down in the syllabus is fundamental to the successful development of the course of study.

In this regard, all students enrolled in the first year of the degree course in Economics and Management (CLEM) are required to comply with the following propaedeuticities:

  • they may only sit the second-year examinations (and more generally all the training activities, including the internship, included by the student and the student in their programme of study in the second year) after having passed at least three examinations of the first year
  • they may only sit the third-year examinations (and more generally all the training activities, including the internship, included by the student and the student in their programme of study in the third year) after having passed all the examinations of the first year.

The choice of specialisation curriculum is made in the second year.

Presentation of the 5 curricula 

The degree course in Economics and Management (CLEM) is divided into 5 different curricula that are highly specialised in terms of subject matter.

In the second year of the course, students enrolled in the CLEM degree course must necessarily make their choice of curriculum at the same time as filling out their programme of study online (for more information see the Programme of Study page).

Language and computer skills

COMPUTER: free credits for computer skills are optional. Interested students must submit appropriate documentation (certification) in accordance with the "Rules for other training activities" published on the Optional Activities page.

LANGUAGES: it is compulsory to sit the Business English proficiency exam, which is scheduled for the third year of the course. Alternatively, it is possible to present the Cambridge ESOL certification, BEC 1 (=Business English Certificate) - for B1.  

Free credit for language skills other than English is optional. Interested male and female students must submit appropriate documentation (certification) in accordance with the "Rules for other training activities" published on the Optional Activities page.

Optional activities and work placements

In order to fulfil the obligations relating to the activity of choice provided for in the programme of study, it is necessary to sit an examination of choice (profit) and/or acquire the remaining credits by choosing one or more of the other proposed activities. It is important to see the activities offered and the documents that regulate them.

The number of recognisable credits differs depending on the academic year of enrolment.

  1. by searching in the catalogue of all the University's courses (N.B. it is necessary to select the academic year in which the examination was scheduled in your programme of study and the name of the course or Professor/instructor); 
  2. by consulting the personal page of the Professor/instructor who holds the course by selecting the surname from the list of teaching staff members for the degree course and the name of the course.
