Learning objectives
Be able to perform a neurological examination independently. Knowledge the main neuroanatomical localisations. Be able to formulate a correct differential diagnosis list.
Be able to determine the most correct diagnostic procedure in each case. Have basic knowledge of the performance and interpretation of the main instrumental examinations used in neurology.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system of domestic animals. Knowledge of Medical Semeiotics, Laboratory Diagnostics and Radiology
Course unit content
Students are provided with theoretical and practical instruction in the clinical management of patients with neurological diseases. Through videos of clinical cases and examinations performed with the lecturer, the notions necessary to perform and know how to interpret the neurological examination, and the instrumental examinations of main use in the neurological clinic are provided.

Teaching methods
Socratic heuristic lectures, discussion of clinical cases by viewing videos and images and reports of the instrumental examinations performed. Visits of patients performed with the lecturer.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral discussion of a clinical case. The examinee must demonstrate the ability to localise the neuroanatomical lesion, draw up a list of correct differential diagnoses and identify the most appropriate diagnostic procedure for the case
