Learning objectives

The lessons of endocrinology growth are part of the course of Biotechnologies Applied to Animal Production.
These lessons are designed to give students knowledge of the fundamental mechanisms regulating growth and metabolic activity of domestic animals. He/she should possess knowledge of the useful biotechnology in the main species of veterinary interest.
Students should demonstrate to know all the items present in the program; in particular, students should show to be able to link the different arguments, to have a deep knowledge of the topics and to speech properly.
At the end of the course the student should have acquired knowledge regarding general ethology mainly in domestic animal. In detail, the student should be able to:.
1. Know the main principles of biothecnology. The student should be able use the specific language and use the scientific terms (knoledgement and understanding)
2. Know the impact of biothecnology in farm and clinics of domestic animals. ( ability to apply the knoledge)
3. explain the results of the studies also to an audience of non-experts. (communication skills)
4. choose the right terms on the basis of the acquired knowledge and clinical needs. (making judgements)
5. link the different topics treated in the course among themselves and to other disciplines of the academic degree course. (learning skills)

Assessment methods and criteria

Final oral examination. Students should demonstrate to know all the items present in the program; in particular, students should show to be able to link the different arguments, to have a deep knowledge of the topics and to speech properly.
The exam will be considered as passed if the student demonstrates that has sufficient knowledge of the arguments that have been treated during the course.
Students with SLD, SEN or disability must send requests to be able to take advantage of compensatory and / or dispensatory measures during the exam at least 10 working days before the date scheduled for the exam by e-mail addressed to the teacher holding the '' teaching and cc to the Department Coordinator (list of contact persons and related email addresses available here http://cai.unipr.it/it/student-con-dsa-e-con-bes/42/) and to the Reception Center and Inclusion (cai@unipr.it)

Other information

Computer slides, lab instruments, scientific papers that are provided to the students during the course. Slides of the lessons are given to the students at the end of the course.
