Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire oral and written Chinese skills at the elementary level. At the end of module B, the student will have elementary grammatical knowledge and will be able to manage simple information on topics of daily life. The student will be able to use approximately 250 characters.

Course unit content
The aim of this course is to consolidate and enrich the linguistic and grammatical knowledge acquired during module A. At the end of module B, the student will be able to use approximately 250 characters.
Detailed program:
-affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences
-verbs, adjectives and nominal predicate
-determination of nouns
-adverbs
-verbs in series, double-object verbs, internal-object verbs, modal verbs
-measure words
-prepositions
-modal particle 了
Introduction to Chinese culture and literature: in addition to the contents in module A (origin and classification of characters, Confucianism and the Hundred Schools), topics related to Taoism and Buddhism will be discussed (Alessandra Lavagnino e Silvia Pozzi, Cultura cinese, segno, scrittura e civiltà, Roma: Carocci editore, 2013, chapters 4 and 10).

Teaching methods
The course will take place through individual and group lectures and exercises, aimed at consolidating grammatical topics, pronunciation, oral and written skills.
Assessment methods and criteria
final written and oral exams.
Written test: grammar and characters knowledge.
Oral test: language skills (reading, speaking and written comprehension and interaction) and cultural contents presented in the program.
The final mark will be the result of written and oral tests.
