Project IDEA (Didactic Integration for Assisted Practice)

The IDEA project was created with the aim of linking the school and university systems. High school teachers, selected from among those who have applied to take part, carry out tutorials and tutoring for students in the first years of three-year and single-cycle degree courses at the University of Parma, after planning and coordinating this activity with the professors of the relevant university courses.

This activity is thus both training and refresher training for the secondary school teacher and tutoring for the male and female students who are offered help in passing their examinations.

All information about the IDEA Project can be found at: http://smfi.unipr.it/it/progetto-idea

Project CORDA (Cooperation for Orientation and Reduction of Difficulties in Access)

The CORDA project is a pre-university initiative in cooperation between high schools and universities, aimed at orientation and the reduction of scholastic deficiencies of male and female high school students.

The CORDA project (ie: Cooperation for Orientation and Debt Relief in Access) is an aid to make the transition from school to university easier. The CORDA project, which started in 2001 as an orientation initiative for final year students of some High Schools intending to undertake studies at the Faculty of Engineering in Parma, was then extended to all the University's scientific courses of study, currently serving the Schools of the entire province of Parma and some of the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Cremona, Mantua, Massa Carrara and Piacenza.

Skype Tandem Project

In the context of language learning, this term refers to the encounter between two people of different mother tongues who want to learn the language of the other, conversing half the time in the language of one and the second half in the language of the other. This approach assumes that both people already possess some basic knowledge of the other language. Therefore, in order to participate in a 'Tandem', it is generally considered indispensable to reach the advanced A2 level.
