Language Placement Test
The LANGUAGE PLACEMENT TEST (LPT) is a test used to check language skills in relation to study abroad, introduced by the University in order to allow interested students to take part in European and international mobility calls, both within the ERASMUS+ Community Programme (KA131 SMS, KA131 SMP, KA171, etc.) and within the University's opportunities (OVERWORLD Programme, Dual Entitlement Programmes, etc.).
Language proficiency testing is mandatory for the following languages: ENGLISH, FRENCH, PORTUGUESE, SPANISH and GERMAN.
Successful completion of both the written and oral “Language and Translation” exams allows students to be exempted from taking the LPT, as specified in the table available at: https://www.unipr.it/LPT.
Please also consult this page for further details and useful information.
As a consequence, for BA students enrolled in the “Modern Foreign Languages and Civilizations” course, taking the LPT is mandatory, for participating in the selection procedures of the international mobility calls, in two cases only:
1) if they have not passed any "Language and Translation" exam, yet (related to the teaching language of the country in which they would like to spend their mobility period);
2) if they have passed one or more “Language and Translation” exams, but their level of proficiency is lower than the one required by the destination they are applying for (such level is specified in the table above).
