Learning objectives
The aim of the course is the acquisition of a solid linguistic competence of spoken and written Chinese at the elementary level.
The course also includes an introduction to Chinese culture and literature.

Teaching methods
The course will take place through lectures and practical exercises in the classroom, aimed at consolidating grammatical topics and pronunciation. In addition to the adopted textbook, additional materials, including multimedia, will be used in the classroom. Students will be required to carry out individual and in-depth study, the merit for which will be assessed during the exam, as well as actively participate in class.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation through final written and oral exams.
Language
Written:
- character recognition and transcription in pinyin;
- multiple choice, character reordering and sentence correction;
- translation from Italian to Chinese and vice versa.
The use of dictionaries is not allowed.
Oral:
The student must be able to read and translate texts in Chinese characters and analyze their syntactic structure, using the specific terminology acquired during the course.
Culture/Literature
Oral: one topic chosen by the student, followed by questions.
