Give to the student the basic principles of radiology and radioprotection.

Course unit content

Radiation Physic. X-ray tube and X-ray machine. Scatter radiation and how to prevent/reduce them. Radiographic film and cassette. Intensifying screens. Artifacts and technical mistakes. Identification of the radiograph. Manual and automatic film processing. Digital Radiography. Exposure factors (kV, mAs). Radiations’ biological effects. Radiation protection. Radiographic examination of small and large animals.
