Prerequisites

Have a good knowledge of their own language.

Course unit content

The course aims to introduce the main notions of the history of the Spanish language and the processes of word formation in Spanish, operatively linking the knowledge obtained in the Spanish language and that of the mother tongue in a communicative context. The study of the history of the Spanish language and the processes of word formation will be addressed both from a theoretical and practical point of view and from an often contrasting Italian-Spanish perspective, also through the analysis and commentary of texts.

Teaching methods

The course will take place through frontal lessons and practical exercises, with moments of analysis and discussion of different types of documents. The teacher will introduce the student to the characteristic under study through the reference bibliography of the course, as well as textual or audiovisual materials made available through the ELLY platform.

Assessment methods and criteria

The summative assessment of the learning involves two moments:
1) Written test where a knowledge of grammar is required (concerning morphology and syntax), dictated .. This test is preliminary to oral.
2) Oral exam where the student demonstrates knowledge of the texts, authors and formal issues related to the linguistic phenomenon under examination. The questions aim to verify the knowledge of the topics covered and the ability to apply it through text analysis.
The exam takes place in Italian (with a question in Spanish also in order to verify an oral competence corresponding to a level higher than A2 / B1) or is carried out completely in Spanish.
For the oral, the threshold of inadequacy is determined by the lack of knowledge of the contents, by an inadequate use of the specific language, by an elaboration devoid of logical and expositive rigor and by the inability to express oneself in a Spanish higher than the A2 / B1 level . The sufficient threshold (18-23 / 30) is determined by a partial knowledge of the contents and a minimum capacity for application and / or re-elaboration of the same and by the demonstration of possessing a linguistic level with characteristic features of the B1. An evaluation between 24-27 / 30 and 26-27 / 30 is achieved thanks to a good / good knowledge of the contents, demonstrating application skills, articulated exposure and adequate use of specific language. The highest threshold (from 28/30 to 30/30 and praise) is obtained when it proves to have an excellent knowledge of contents, autonomous, original and creative applications.

Other information

Language exercises will take place during both semesters.
