Learning objectives
The training objectives of the Internal Veterinary Medicine internship cover the different aspects declined by the Dublin indicators, with particular reference, since it is a practical activity carried out in the 5th year of the course, therefore at the end of the theoretical activities, at the second indicator (Knowledge and Applied Understanding), to the third (Autonomy of Judgements) and to the fourth (Communication Skills).

Course unit content
The internship in Internal Veterinary Medicine is an internal and external practical activity that takes place mainly at the Veterinary Teaching University Hospital (OVUD) of the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Parma and at Italian or foreign clinical structures, specifically affiliated, according to the procedures of the University, chosen by the student on the basis of their own interests, or by freelance veterinary doctors with a professional activity mainly oriented to zootechnical and horse. Regardless of the type of location chosen, the company tutor is always a graduate in Veterinary Medicine. Based on these premises, there is no reference program, as the activities are diversified on the basis of the structures to which the student accesses.

Teaching methods
The internship activity in the clinical field is preferably carried out within the OVUD and/or outside the university structures, in public or private structures with special agreements, according to the University procedures. Teaching is provided by company tutors, graduates in Veterinary Medicine, and evaluated at the end of the period by the academic tutor, on the basis of a report/sheet filled in by the company tutor and attendance checks.
Assessment methods and criteria
Learning verification systems are not provided. The credits are credited on the basis of the certified attendance and the judgment of the company tutor.
