Course unit content

The course is represented by 1) a course named Orientamento AGR/19, that consists in a short period (3 days) that students spend in a herd of dairy cows and pigs, located about 30 km from the headquarters of the Department, following the activities of the veterinary, within the management of livestock farming itself. In the absence of a program defined a priori, however, they were identified by the Coordinator, and agreed with the company tutor, some basic tasks, relating to feeding and animal management, that will always be identified as the minimum requirements of the course.
2) a course named Orientamento VET/06 that concerns the practical management of parasitic diseases.

Teaching methods

The achievement of the objectives will be guaranteed by practical activity on the farm under the supervision of the veterinarian. The discussion with a professional of the cases that arise will provide the student with the means to form their own independent judgment (3rd Dublin descriptor) and to better communicate with the different actors in the chain (4th Dublin descriptor).
Classes and seminars.

Assessment methods and criteria

At the end of the course, the credit will be given after presentation of proof of attendance at the company (signed by the company tutor) and a report written by the student, that must contain some arguments that the Coordinator has indicated before the course. Only after the delivery of this documents, they will be awarded the credits.
