Learning objectives
The students must acquire knowledge and understanding about the diagnostic capabilities offered by diagnostic imaging techniques as radiology, CT, ultrasonography (D1-knowlwdge and comprehension). They should be able to understand the acquired data and discuss a differential diagnosis, applying knowledge and understanding, showing professional skills and being able to make judgements (D2-ability to apply knowledge and skill). Students must show communication and learning skills.

Course unit content
The course includes practical sessions on: x-ray unit, radiographic images: digital acquisition system, radioprotection, radiographic projection in small and large animal, ultrasonography, basic principle of CT.

Teaching methods
During the orientation activity in the area of interest, diagnostic imaging clinical cases will be discussed considering the differential diagnosis and the clinical data of the subjects. The clinical cases approach, based on “problem solving method” will provide students the opportunity to test their own competence and professional skills.
Assessment methods and criteria
The verification of expected results, described by D1 e D2 indicators for practical learning, provides a ceritfication of attendance and competences.
