Learning objectives
Knows the basics of health sociology and the social variables that influence both the definition, the experience and the cure of the illness as well as the social interactions of the patient - including the disparities, in particular concerning role (therapist-patient) and resources.

The course illustrates some basic notions of health sociology - including those of body, disease, patient and social interaction at the intersection of person, medicine and society. Particular attention is devoted to the notion of role interaction and to the variables that influence it (resources, age, gender, ethnicity)

Teaching methods
Oral lessons, during which the interaction students - teacher is explicitly stimulated via discussion at the end of the lesson.
Assessment methods and criteria
The written exam is a 45 minutes test which consists in 3 open queries about topics inherent to the course
Grading:
Fail: less than approximate or wrong knowledge about the topic
18-21: elementary knowledge of the topic, and/or improper knowledge, partial capacity for presentation and argumentation.
22-25: Fair knowledge of the topic, fairly solid presentation and argumentation capacity
26-29: Good knowledge or very good knowledge of the topic, good or very good presentation and argumentation capacity.
30: precise knowledge of the topic, optimal presentation and argumentation capacity
30 cum laude: precise knowledge of the topic, optimal presentation and argumentation capacity, pertinent personal re-elaboration of the knowledge
