Learning objectives

During the course the student will acquire specific knowledge concerning the topics covered during the period of each modules.

In particular, the student will acquire knowledge that will allow to understand and then to implement in practice, with discrete independent judgment, the following topics:
- Diagnostic analysis of the major cardiovascular diseases.
- CVD risk assessment, clinical evaluation of patient with heart disease and exercise prescription in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation
- Disease of sport and amputee patient.
- Problems before and after surgery with particular reference to the planning of rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
- Methodology of rehabilitation through some “key segments” (hip, lumbar spine, shoulder, cervical spine) based on the principles of functional anatomy and pathophysiology of musculoskeletal system.
- Use of equipment in order to obtain objective data on the patient's rehabilitation amputee.

Prerequisites

Principles of anatomy and physiology of cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal sustem, anatomy of internal organs and principles of mechanics and biomechanics.

Teaching methods

The course is composed of modules that use as mainly teaching tools lectures, followed, if provided for each specific module, by a period of practical training

Assessment methods and criteria

Most of the modules that make up the course includes a method of verification consists of oral examination with or without a practical test. Some modules provide instead an evaluation using multiple choice quizzes or writing a short thesis.
