Teaching quality

Quality Assurance is an indispensable process that involves all those who work in the University in which each individual's progress benefits the entire University and stimulates the healthy confrontation to which it is necessary to strive in order to make the social role played by the University effective and concrete.
Quality Assurance means:

  • defining quality policies in line and synergy with the University's strategic directions and reliable and robust procedures through which the governing bodies can implement them;
  • implementing activities to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in all the University's internal processes, first and foremost in the service of the quality of education and research;
  • creating awareness in all those who work in the University so that everyone's tasks are carried out competently and promptly, the services provided are effective, and a record is kept of what has been done to monitor and measure results.

Student Opinion Survey Questionnaire (OPIS)

The student opinion survey questionnaire (OPIS) is a tool designed to detect student opinion with a view to improving teaching, quality and the organisation of degree courses and is an integral part of the evaluation system. For students, it is an important opportunity to make their voice heard and actively participate in the life of their degree course, as a guarantee of better Quality Assurance: this is why the University recommends that it be filled in punctually and accurately.
More information on the OPIS questionnaires can be found on the following page: https://www.unipr.it/en/node/9289

Organisation and responsibility for Course Quality Assurance

For the purposes of Quality Assurance, the degree course makes use of bodies and figures, whose functions and competences are defined by the University Regulations, the Department Regulations and the Quality Assurance Guidelines.

Review Group

The Review Group (GR) is a committee of the degree course whose main activity consists in analysing the results of the course's educational processes, with the aim of identifying critical points and possible improvement actions.
The Review Group:

  • has the task of guiding the degree course towards the goal of continuous improvement of its results;
  • it manages the self-assessment process by periodically monitoring the course data, detecting strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective and improvement actions;
  • drafting the Annual Monitoring Form (AMS);
  • drafting the Cyclical Review Report (CBR).

Members of the Review Group:

Quality Assurance Manager

Prof. Giorgio Morini (Quality Assurance Manager)

The Quality Assurance Manager is chosen from among the Course professors/instructors.

The Quality Assurance Manager has the task of:

  • verifying the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance activities within the Degree Course;
  • collaborating with the Review Group;
  • verifying the correct publication of the calendars of examinations, degree examinations, lectures, seminar activities, if any;
  • verifying the publication of teaching programmes, professors/instructors' curricula, etc.;
  • receiving and taking charge of any reports from students on critical issues concerning the correct performance of teaching activities;
  • raising the students' awareness of the role and functions of the Quality Assurance Manager.

In order to facilitate the collection of reports from students, a 'form for reporting observations, complaints, appreciations and proposals for improvement' has been set up.

Ms Giulia Branca (Education Manager)

The Education Manager ensures the organisation and functionality of the didactics of the degree course, manages and updates the content of the degree course website, acts as a facilitator of the educational process and provides the necessary administrative support.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee, consisting of a representation of the Department's professors/instructors and representatives from the world of work, ensures a constant liaison with the world of business and the world of work, in order to assess the progress of the degree courses, to draw up proposals for the definition and design of the training offer and the learning objectives, and to promote contacts for possible internships of students in companies and institutions.
