Average calculation

For the purposes of assessing the final examination, students can view the calculation of the arithmetic and weighted average by logging onto their ESSE3 page.

Allocation of student marks in the degree examination

For the purposes of awarding the degree grade, the committee assesses the thesis, the oral presentation and the undergraduate's entire career.

The degree mark is awarded by the committee in a mark out of 110 and takes into account the weighted average of the curricular examinations converted into 110th, as calculated by the ESSE3 platform.

Any ECTS credits earned in excess of the required ones will not count towards the final average.

Compared to the average of the examinations in the curriculum expressed in 100ths, in addition to rounding to the nearest whole number, the graduation mark may have a maximum increase of 12 points distributed according to the following criteria:

  • 0 to 4 points awarded by the supervisor;
  • 0 to 2 points awarded by the counter-supervisor;
  • 0 to 3 points awarded by the Graduation Committee;
  • 1 point in the case of obtaining 40 ECTS credits at the end of the first year of the course (with verification on 31 December);
  • 1 point in the case of graduation within the legal duration of the course.

Subject to the maximum limit of 12 points, a bonus is awarded according to the following criteria:

  • 1 point in the case of obtaining ECTS credits abroad;
  • 1 point in the case of active participation in University Degree Bodies and Organs;
  • 1 point in the case of writing the thesis in English.

The award of honours is only possible, on the recommendation of the President of the Graduation Committee, in cases where the grade is 110/110.
The unanimous agreement of the members of the Degree Committee is required for the awarding of honours.
