Learning objectives
The degree course in Artistic, Library's and Performing Arts Heritage aims to train a graduate able to work at different levels in all the various fields of cultural heritage, with activities of study, protection, valorisation and promotion as well as cataloguing and conservation. Considering the richness that tangible and intangible cultural heritage brings to the individual lives of citizens and to those of future generations - including the cultural and creative sector in terms also of revitalising European social capital - the course provides a solid basic training and an adequate spectrum of knowledge in three specific areas, to be applied with competence and professionalism according to the type of cultural heritage that the graduate will be in charge of, manage and promote. The course thus provides preparation for the use of investigation and study techniques in the field of artistic cultural heritage, theatre, music, film and book production.
The three-year training course aims to provide students with the level of theoretical and technical knowledge required to operate on several levels in the characterising subject areas. Solid basic knowledge and adequate comprehension skills will be acquired in the Italian language and literature and its history, in the geographical and anthropological disciplines, and in the historical disciplines. The student will then acquire specific knowledge and skills in the characterising disciplines: he/she will be able to direct his/her studies to a specific field without, however, losing the opportunity of a transversal and interdisciplinary training among the various material and immaterial artistic expressions understood in the broadest and most comprehensive sense of the term, interwoven with linguistic, literary, artistic and anthropic knowledge. Graduates will be able to work at different levels and with different specificities in public and private institutions in charge of historical research, cataloguing, conservation and promotion of artistic heritage and the various performing arts sectors, such as museums, galleries and exhibition centres, theatres and production companies in the framework of traditional, multimedia and telematic publishing activities, and institutions and companies in various capacities interested in the valorisation of the artistic heritage also through the realisation of exhibition events and in the organization and promotion of the various forms of performing arts.
