Learning objectives
The course aims at providing the student with an adequate ability in analyzing the problems at stake and in elaborating arguments with regard to these, and at improving his autonomy in judgment and his skills in oral (thanks to the discussion in class) and written (thanks to the redaction of a paper) communication and in learning in this field.

Course unit content
After a brief introduction to some fundamental semantic notions, the course will focus on the wrking of the so-called "general terms", expressions as "cat", "chair" and "beer".
