Learning objectives

Thorough knowledge of the problems of moral philosophy and understanding of their relevance and adequacy to the present.
Ability to discuss the texts and topics covered in an orderly, analytical and argumentative way.
Rigorous awareness of methodological problems and ability to critically integrate the acquired knowledge.

Course unit content

Demitologisation and Ethics.
The course is dedicated to two great twentieth century thinkers: Walter Benjamin and Furio
Jesi. We will mainly address the problem of the constitution of the subject in its relationship with the
myth. From this point of view we will tackle the the themes of revolt and revolution, mass and
class, and we will study the theater as a form of demythologization in comparison with Benjamin
and Jesi with Brecht.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam.
Evaluation:
30 cum laude: excellent, solid knowledge, excellent argumentative ability, complete comprehension of concepts and arguments.
30: very good, complete knowledge, good argumentation skills.
27/29 good, adequate knowledge, ability to express concepts and arguments clearly and correctly.
25/26: fairly good knowledge, but not complete and not always correct.
21/24: acceptable but superficial knowledge, expression often not appropriate.
18/21: sufficient but with cognitive and expressive deficiencies.
Insufficient. The preparation has serious gaps in terms of content, lack of clarity, inadequate understanding of concepts and arguments.
