Learning objectives

The course aims to promote the methodological knowledge related to the construction of a research design that includes the use of questionnaires or interviews. At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- know the tools and procedures used in investigations and surveys;
- use in an autonomous and appropriate manner the acquired knowledge to design and to implement a research design that uses questionnaires or interviews;
- recognize the limits related to the use of questionnaires and interviews in psychosocial research, and be able to deal with them critically and adequately with respect to the object of study;
- effectively communicate the results obtained through questionnaires and interviews.

Basic knowledge of research methodology

Course unit content

The course aims to deepen the methodological aspects involved in the use of the questionnaire and of the interview as techniques of investigation in psychology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Practical test during the course and oral exam at the end of the course. The practical test consists of the production, administration of questionnaires or interviews that will be presented / discussed in class. Each of the two tests will be evaluated in thirtieths on the basis of the following criteria:
- 30 cum laude = correctness, completeness of the practical test / of the concepts presented in the oral exam; adequate language and presence of a critical sense;
- 28-30 = correctness, completeness of the practical test / of the concepts presented in the oral exam; quite accurate and adequate language, lack of a critical sense;
- 24-27 = the practical test / the concepts presented in the oral exam are correct but not completely complete; the language used is not entirely precise and adequate;
- 21-23 = the practical test / the concepts presented in the oral exam are only partially correct and not always described in detail; the language used is not very precise and adequate;
- 18-22 = the practical test / the concepts presented in the oral exam are addressed in a non-detailed manner, some errors and gaps emerge; the language is approximate;
- <18 = the practical test / the concepts presented in the oral exam are little or not at all pertinent, there are serious errors and important gaps, the language is not precise and understandable.
To be admitted to the oral exam it is necessary to have passed the practical test with at least 18/30. The final grade will be given by the average of the marks obtained in the two tests.
