Internships

The University of Parma promotes curricular internships in order to facilitate professional choices through direct knowledge of the world of work and the realisation of moments of alternation between study and work.

The curricular internship integrates and completes the student's training pathway through the performance of practical activities which, in accordance with the provisions of the Didactic Regulations of their Course of Study, may be carried out in facilities within the University or externally at qualified public and private organisations with which the University has entered into appropriate agreements.

The internship involves three parties: the student, the promoting party (the University of Parma) and the host party (company or organisation) where the activity is carried out under the guidance of a university tutor, a University professor and a company tutor.

The curricular internship does not constitute a prerequisite for an employment relationship between the trainee and the host structure, nor can it be a substitute for company labour or professional services.

Pre-graduate Internships

Professor responsible for pre-graduate internships

The professor responsible for internships in the psychology area is Prof. Alessandro Musetti.

The professor will be responsible for assisting students who are required to carry out pre-graduate internship activities in facilities affiliated with the university. In accordance with the indications coming from the order of psychologists, these training experiences will comply with the guidelines set out in the internship regulations approved by the Course of Study Council.
 

Recognition of ECTS credits

The Course Council, in compliance with the relevant University regulations, may recognise to students who request it university training credits relating to voluntary activities of social value (3 or 6 ECTS credits, TAF F), sports credits (1 ECTS credit TAF F), credits for safety in the workplace (2 ECTS credits, TAF F) and credits for artistic and cultural activities (TAF F, according to the types and quantifications provided for in the Regulations approved by the BoD on 30-04-2015).

ECTS credits for sports, cultural, artistic and social activities

ECTS credits for community service may also be awarded (TAF F, 9 ECTS credits).

Professional training (Tirocinio Pratico Valutativo - TPV)

The TPV consists of 500 hours of professional training activities (corresponding to 20 University Credits) completed in certified external structures that have an official agreement with the university. TPV training cannot be completed within the structures of the university itself.
