Learning objectives
General and detailed training objectives:
- To acquire a basic knowledge of the fundamental moments of the history of transcendental philosophy and its link with the contexts in which it develops;
- Acquire the critical tools for understanding and analysing philosophical texts from Kant to Fichte;
- To acquire the ability to construct and communicate arguments related to the concepts dealt with in the course.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of the history of modern philosophy from Descartes to Kant.
Course unit content
The course is dedicated to the concepts of "I" and "Consciousness" in German idealism, particularly in Fichte. The lessons will take into consideration the first systematizations of Kantian philosophy and the criticisms that led to the Fichtian solution presented in his "Foundation of the Science of Knowledge (1794/1795)"
