Knowledge and understanding of medical emergency management

Course unit content
The Course through theoric lessons focuses on clinical notions related to first aid procedure and emergency medical organisation. Lessons are provided on measuring vital parameters (saturation, EGA) blood pressure and heart rate, on the assessment of consciousness, respiratory and circulatory competence. There are also specific lessons on the management of the acute medical emergencies for patient who needs Basic Life Support (BLS) and defibrillation (BLSD).

Bibliography
Slides and articles related to medical emergency procedures (organisation and management) will be provided to the students along with video clips.
Teaching methods
The course will be held through lectures supported by slide presentations and video clips, which will be available to students on the Elly platform (https://elly2020.medicina.unipr.it/).
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely, as follows:
remote oral questions, through the Teams platform (guide http://selma.unipr.it/).
