Learning objectives
Analytical and logical argumentative comptence relating to the various models of knowledge and to the aestetic mediums and languages. Ability in analysis and discussion of the theories and models of contemporary aesthetics.
Prerequisites
The student must possess knowledges concerning the history of modern philosophy
Course unit content
Aesthetics (6 CFU)
The course deals with a critical analysis of the current validity and limits of the relationship between art and society as established by the aesthetic research of the Frankfurt School, in particular by authors such as Benjamin, Adorno and Horkheimer, Marcuse.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral Examination. The first question will be chosen by the student. Average duration of the exam: 30 min.
