Learning objectives
Knowledge and understanding: the teaching of contemporary Europe history allows students a thoroughly critical understanding of the past sixty years, providing instruments for a critical interpretation of the present.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the study of the recent historical period will give students the ability to connect the past with the present, identifying trends and long-term problems.
Making judgments: at the end of the course students should have acquired the ability to collect data, to interpret critically the historical evolution and to formulate independent and self-motivated judgments on the socio-political context in which they occur.
Communication skills: at the end of the course students should have achieved the ability to communicate clearly the main problems of European history.
Learning skills: a diligent study should provide students with a certain methodological mastery, learning and analytical skills, also for aspects not covered in this course, that will be useful for the access to future professions related to communication and journalism.
