Course unit partition: REHABILITATION IN PLASTIC SURGERY

Learning objectives

With this ADE, you have the opportunity to acquire a specific professional enrichment through the theoretical and practical knowledge of the BURN and the physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatments related to it.
It allows you to "physically" enter a Burn Center, a peculiarity that is practically unique in the Region in the National Territory, assisting in first hand the clinical stages (dressings, balneotherapy, physiotherapy treatments) guardians and guardians, surgical interventions, etc.) of the therapeutic path.

Course unit content

You will be able to deepen topics of specific individual / personal interest in every area of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery:
- to know the scientific basis of the pathology in plastic surgery and in the burned patient, identifying the physical, psychological and social needs that are capable of functional recovery of the individual, in order to identify the preventive and rehabilitative needs of the subjects, through an evaluation of the burned patient's clinical data, taking into account motor, psychomotor, cognitive and functional changes and the consistency, magnitude and significance of the symptoms;
- knowing how to design rehabilitation, identifying the rehabilitation objectives and the most appropriate therapeutic modalities to achieve them, using, in relation to the physician's prescriptions and indications, physical therapies, manual therapies, psychomotor and occupational therapies, proposing the possible use of orthoses, prostheses and aids;
- know how to plan and perform the rehabilitative intervention, identifying the methods and times of application of the different rehabilitation techniques, in consideration of the relative indications and contraindications;
- to contribute to organizing rehabilitation activities through the definition of priorities, the appropriate use of available resources, also in collaboration with other health professionals, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
