Learning objectives
The aim of the course is the knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and the acquisition of competence in the use of the connected instruments and techniques.. The course will also show how these knowledges can be applied to the design and implementation of research projects on issues related to the professional reality. Finally, the course aims to foster students' critical thinking and independent judgment with respect to addressed methodological issues, as well as to improve their ability to communicate research findings in both an oral and written form

Course unit content
The course will be composed of two parts.
The first part will be dedicated to the quantitative research methodologies and will include lessons and practical exercises on: construction and administration of self-report instruments, and data elaboration through software.
The second part will focus on observational methodologies with a particular focus on direct observation and post-production techniques.

Teaching methods
Lectures and exercises will be proposed in order to facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the use of the learned methodological skills.
Assessment methods and criteria
The exam includes a practical test and an oral examination. The practical test is designed to assess the skills to apply the learned methodologies.
The oral examination will assess students’ acquisition of knowledge of research methodologies and their application to the professional field.
