Learning objectives
Advanced skills in order to provide anatomical and physiological and clinical care in respiratory diseases and respiratory rehabilitation. Technical and professional skills in diseases that results in respiratory failure and who require treatment with oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilators (BiPAP and CPAP).

Anatomy and Physiology of the respiratory system
Course unit content
Clinical and functional evaluation of respiratory function into its components: mechanical ventilation, perfusion and diffusion. Respiratory diseases characterized by obstruction, restrictive and bronchial hypersecretion: asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, COPD, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis. Clinical and functional evaluation of the patient's cardiopulmonary and rehabilitative aspects. Tobacco smoke and related diseases. Aspects of rehabilitation and mechanical ventilation.
Full programme
Pulmonary function and mechanisms of the defense of the airways: cough and CMC; Chronic bronchitis; Emphysema, COPD, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis. Spirometry, gas analysis, pulse oximetry and 6MWT (six minute walking test).
