Learning objectives

Providing qualified competences of anatomical and physiological and clinical-functional in the field of respiratory diseases and cardiovascular.
Providing the tools to understand the changes that occur in adult and the elderly as a result of diseases (infectious, hypersecretive, vascular) to load the various organs and systems.
Acquiring technical and professional skills in the context of diseases that result in respiratory failure and require treatment with O2 therapy and mechanical ventilation.
Enhancing the role of the physiotherapist within the network of the S.S.N

Prerequisites

Anatomy and Physiology of cardio-respiratory

Course unit content

Knowledge of the aspects characterizing the physiological changes and adaptations of the cardiovascular system and respiratory adult and the elderly;
knowledge of the epidemiology and the clinical and functional evaluation of the main respiratory diseases, cardiovascular, inflammatory and infectious that can affect young people, adults and geriatric age: bronchitis, emphysema, insuff. respiratory and heart insuff.cardiaca, ischemic heart disease.
The capacity to walk in the elderly and manual and electronic aids for postural changes, pressure sores: aids prevention and care

Respiration and the defense mechanisms of the lung and bronchial airways; Br.Cronica; Asthma, Emphysema, COPD, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, spirometry, gas analysis, pulse oximetry and 6MWT.
Geriatric syndromes:
• Syndrome immobilization and bedsores
• Malnutrition and sarcopenia
• Urinary Incontinence
• Fall and syncope
• Delirium (acute confusion)
Main clinical interest rehabilitation
