Entry Requirements and Additional Educational Obligations (OFAs)

For enrolment in the degree course, one must hold a secondary school diploma in accordance with Art. 6(3) of Ministerial Decree. 270/04.

Basic knowledge of:

acquired from upper secondary school curricula and sufficient for effective learning of the subjects taught in the first year.

Basic knowledge will be tested by means of a test covering the four subjects, the date, time and method of which will be determined and communicated at the beginning of the lessons.

Failure in the test results in an additional educational obligation (OFA) being assigned to the student who did not achieve the minimum scores in the test.

Modalities for the Recovery of Additional Educational Obligations

The assignment of an OFA implies compulsory attendance at remedial classes in the respective core subject according to special supplementary teaching programmes organized by the University (IDEA project). Remedial classes are held in the Department of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences according to a fixed schedule published on the class schedule.

The OFA assigned is deemed to have been fulfilled by passing an appropriate examination, the content, date and time of which are established and communicated to the students concerned by the teacher, or by passing the relevant exam.

In the event of failure to complete the OFAs within the first academic year of the course, the student may enrol in the second year of the course, but may not take the examinations before the OFAs have been completed.

Test of basic knowledge

WHAT IS IT?

The basic knowledge test consists of four pages/sections: Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Each section contains 10 multiple-choice questions on the corresponding subject.

In order to pass the test, it is necessary to correctly answer at least 4 questions in Mathematics, 7 questions in Biology, 6 questions in Physics and 6 questions in Chemistry, otherwise the student will be given an OFA in the subject in which he/she did not achieve the minimum score.

*** ATTENTION: *** The test is compulsory for all first-year students: students who do not take the test in the manner described on this page will be automatically assigned an OFA for each of the four subjects.

WHEN DOES THE TEST TAKES PLACE?

The test takes place on Friday 13 October 2023 over three shifts:

  • Shift 1: 2.00 pm
  • Shift 2: 3.30 pm
  • Shift 3: 5.00 pm

To take the test, you need to reserve your place on the dedicated page of the Elly 2023 portal (https://elly2023.vpi.unipr.it/course/index.php?categoryid=6).

  1. It is not allowed to book more than one shift: if a student is registered on more than one shift, his test may be invalidated,
  2. If the indication "Non ci sono posti disponibili (There are no places available)" appears in correspondence with one of the shifts, it will be necessary to register for a different shift.

The procedure for booking the test is described in the following GUIDE

Reservations will open on Monday 25 September at 12.00 and will close on Monday 9 October at 12.00.

HOW IS IT CARRIED OUT?

The test will take place in person at the computer room "E" of the "Aule delle scienze" complex, at the University Campus.

The duration of the test (only one attempt available) is 45 minutes, during which time it can be completed and submitted at any time. During the test, it is possible to change the answers already given within a page/section or to cancel them by clicking on the 'ANNULLA LA SCELTA' (CANCEL YOUR CHOICE) text that will appear at the bottom of each question, but if you move on to the next section, the answers given in the previous one will be saved and can no longer be changed. After the 45 minutes have elapsed, the test will end automatically, and your score will still be recorded.

Please note that to sign up to take the test, you must only use your University mail credentials, if they have already been assigned to you (username: name.surname@studenti.unipr.it and relative password, if already assigned, or the numeric credentials of the University obtained during registration in the ESSE3 information system, for example: 10178451), and that the use of calculators, online search engines or other web (smartphone, smartwatch) or paper-based aids such as textbooks or manuals is not permitted.

The individual test result will not be public: it will only be visible to the student and communicated confidentially to the subject instructors involved.

The solutions of the test will be available by connecting to the test from Monday 16 october until Thursday 19 october 2023.

The methods of carrying out the test are illustrated in the following GUIDE
