Learning objectives

The aim of the teaching is to identify and compare the basic elements of economic thinking and acting with regard to different times and cultures.

1)A pattern for understanding societies and economies: culture and social exchange;
2)religion, philosophy, law and economic thought in classical ages: the case of India, China, Islam and Europe;
3)the beginnings of economic science in Europe: holistic theories, methodological individualism, institutionalism.
