Average calculation

For the purposes of assessing the final examination, students can view the calculation of the arithmetic and weighted average by logging onto their ESSE3 page.

Weighted average calculation

In order to calculate the weighted average, for the purposes of the final assessment,

  • all the marks obtained in the course-unit examinations are taken into account (except for the proficiency tests);
  • for each examination, the mark is multiplied by the number of credits attributed to the discipline being examined;
  • the figures thus obtained are added together and the total is divided by the number of credits used in the previous calculation;
  • finally, the figure obtained is divided by 3 and the result is multiplied by 11, with the first three decimal places being counted.

The average obtained does not take into account any additional points or the assessment of the thesis discussion.
