Examination calendar

This page contains useful information on examinations (calendar, registration, committees, evaluation questionnaires).

Dates of examinations

Dates of profit examinations can be consulted in the EXAMINATIONS NOTICEBOARD on Esse3. (Please note: before searching on the examinations noticeboard, set the date range in the fields 'exam date from' and 'exam date to' as the first filter, followed by 'Department', selecting: 'H2 - Department of Law, Politics and International Studies' and any other fields).
To find out when examinations are held, please consult the Calendar of Teaching Activities page

Enrolment for exams by e-mail - Students enrolled on a degree course closed to new candidates.

Students enrolled on a degree course closed to new candidates* CANNOT use the ESSE3 system.

In order to enrol for an exam, students must send an email to the professor in charge of the course unit during the enrolment period: from 15 to 4 days before the date of the exam - see PDF calendars at the bottom of the page.

*(Degree Course in Political Science and European Institutions - SPIE, Degree Course in Political Science (Businesses, Markets, Institutions) - SPAMI, Degree Course in International and European Studies - SIE).

What to write in the email

The email must be sent with ‘high priority’ and must have as object ‘Iscrizione all'esame.......del giorno.....’ (‘Enrolment for the exam.......on.......’).
The text of the email must specify the name, registration number, the degree course in which the student is enrolled and the year of enrolment.

Detailed information for exam registration

In order to register for an examination, students must:

1. Have completed the PROGRAMME OF STUDY online
Students who do not complete their programme of study on Esse3 will not be able to register for examinations in their year of enrolment (they will only be able to sit examinations from the previous year). For example, a student in year III may only register for examinations in years I and II but may not take examinations in year III until he/she has completed the programme of study.

2. Have completed the EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE

3. Have ATTAINED THE REQUIRED ATTENDANCE
Students may only sit examinations at the end of the semester in which the course was taught (from December for first-semester courses; from May for second-semester or annual course units). For course units from previous years, attendance is deemed to have already been acquired, so the student may take the examinations during any session.
N.B. When a student inserts a new 'elective'/free-choice course unit in the current academic year's programme of study, even if it replaces a course chosen unit in previous years, he/she is obliged to comply with the requirement of semestralità.
Students transferring from other universities are requested to inquire at the Student Registry Office about any attendance already acquired at their university of origin.

4. Have complied with the mandatory "PROPAEDEUTICITIES", if provided for in their system

5. Be up-to-date with the PAYMENT OF FEES (under penalty of cancellation of an examination taken whilst fees are outstanding)

Student opinion survey questionnaires (OPIS)

The survey of students' opinions concerning teaching is carried out by means of the 'Student Opinion Survey Questionnaires (OPIS)' and is an indispensable element for improving the teaching, quality and organization of degree courses.

A 90-minute information video is available at https://youtu.be/TmqvjU6DQdY. This video provides information of interest to students.

The Questionnaire should be completed by students at the end of the cycle of classes of each course unit.
For students who have not previously taken the assessment, the ESSE3 computer system requires them to complete the questionnaires when enrolling for the examination.

For further in-depth information click HERE

The degree course has produced an INFORMATIVE VIDEO to be consulted for a correct interpretation of the questionnaire, also in the light of online teaching:
Since students are only allowed to express their opinions with regard to their year's course units, they are asked to complete all the questionnaires activated in the academic year 2024/2025 by the deadline.
