Learning objectives


- The module on "Childhood, adolescence and families" intends to provide some essential elements on the protection of minors, aimed at outlining the role of social services but above all that of the Social Worker who works in these services, whose professional specificity is fundamental in building the network to protect children and adolescents.
-The module on "Non self-sufficiency" aims to provide knowledge and mastery of the elements that characterize the field of non self-sufficiency, from the most relevant regulatory sources of the legislation in force on the subject, to the organization, management and networking of Social Services -Sector-specific territorial health care.
-The module on "Poverty and new forms of marginality" wants to describe the phenomenon of poverty from a cultural, social and educational perspective.
- The module on "Criminal justice and services" wants to encourage the construction of knowledge related to the social service of Justice in the adult sector.

Course unit content


The course is divided into four modules, in detail:
-"Childhood, adolescence and families": the module intends to provide essential elements on the protection of minors, aimed at outlining the role of the Social Worker who operates within these services.
-"Non self-sufficiency": the module intends to provide knowledge and mastery of the elements that characterize the ambit of non self-sufficiency.
-"Poverty and new forms of marginality": the module aims to illustrate the phenomenon of poverty from a cultural, social and educational point of view.
-"Criminal justice and services", the module wants to encourage the construction of knowledge related to the social service of Justice in the adult sector.

Bibliography


The texts adopted for the teachings, are indicated in each single module.
Another material for the exam, will be provided by the teachers in the form of slides and in-depth diagrams.

Teaching methods


The course consists of lectures and practical-theoretical-laboratory exercises.
There will also be exercises and thematic insights.
Dialogue and interaction with students will be privileged, to whom adequate spaces will be reserved for discussion and comparison.
The teaching material used during the lessons and exercises will be periodically uploaded to Elly (slides and reference standards, forms and diagrams).
Furthermore, additional in-depth readings may be suggested, with respect to the reference texts.

Assessment methods and criteria

The method of evaluating the objectives achieved will be unique and will focus on the topics covered in all modules. The verification will take place through a WRITTEN exam (multiple choice quiz) with n. 30 questions, which will cover all the topics covered during the lessons, seminars and contents in the bibliography, aimed at evaluating the study and learning of the theoretical / practical notions.
The test lasts 1 hour.
Each question is worth 1 point, for a maximum total of 30 points. In the event that the student scores 29 points, the grade assigned will be 30/30; if, on the other hand, he achieves 30 points, the mark will be 30 cum laude. In other cases, the number of points corresponds to the same mark out of thirty. The exam is considered passed if you score 18 or more points.
The student must answer all the questions.
For Erasmus students and students with special needs, the duration of the test will be 1 hour and 20 minutes
