At the end of the workshop, students must be able to distinguish the dimensions of sexual identity and the main guidelines for clinical intervention.

Course unit content
The laboratory aims to investigate the construct of sexual identity in its interpersonal, psychosocial and developmental dimensions, to provide a picture of the main areas of psychological intervention.
Full programme
Gender as a social matrix, gender roles and socialization, nuclear gender identity and gender expression, the development of gender concepts in childhood, sexual orientation and sexual orientation identity.
Counseling on sexual identity and gender transition paths.
Bibliography
APA guidelines and some scientific articles will be proposed.
Teaching methods
Frontal and interactive explanations, videos, and discussion among students.
The laboratory will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations and audio-video aids.
Assessment methods and criteria
Attendance is mandatory and a maximum of 2 hours of absence is allowed. The learning will be verified through a short report on a clinical case.
