Learning objectives
-Assess, follow and assist a low obstetric risk labor. Knowledge of inclusion and conversion criteria to ensure appropriate care; importance of correct communication with the patient even in situations of discomfort or with a language barrier.
The concept of "care" applied to BRO assistance. Collaboration with the doctor and the team. Compilation of clinical documentation.
-Knowledge of risk management tools in the healthcare sector. Safety of clinical practice through improving the quality of care. Application of corporate, regional and ministerial procedures for risk reduction in the healthcare sector.
-Know the guidelines regarding triage with a focus on the obstetrics-gynecology field. Acquisition of basic knowledge to be able to carry out triage, color coding.

Course unit content
The course is made up of distinct modules:
MODULE I - Assistance at low obstetric risk birth (BRO).
International and ministerial guidelines, hospital protocol, clinical case of the management of a case. Analysis of data relating to the BRO at the UOC of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the AOU of Parma.
MODULE II - Risk management.
Risk analysis in the healthcare sector with particular reference to the obstetric-gynecological area. Definition of organizational policies for the prevention and reduction of risk in healthcare with study of the company operational sheets that regulate the main risk situations for the patient. Ministerial and regional regulations in the field of risk management.
MODULE II - Obstetric-gynecological triage.
Regional guidelines for the management of patients in the emergency room, color codes, clinical cases.
