Learning objectives
At the end of lessons and reviews, it is expected that the student will be able to:
- analyze and understand the relationship between idea and architectural form and between form and function (1st Dublin descriptor);
- apply the acquired skills in the field of architectural design with reference to the Contents (2nd Dublin descriptor);
- acquire a necessary and indispensable autonomy of critical (or self-critical) judgment regarding architectural design related to the specific themes described in the Contents (3rd Dublin descriptor);
- acquire an initial communicative capacity within the architectural design context, particularly regarding the indications described in the Contents (4th, 5th Dublin descriptors).
Prerequisites
A perfect knowledge of the Italian language, correct oral expression, and proper use of vocabulary are fundamental prerequisites. The use of bibliography as a tool is crucial in this regard.
Course unit content
The contribution aims to clarify to students the concept of construction as a synthesis of compositional, technical, and technological elements, resolved in a unified solution.

Teaching methods
The teaching activities will be conducted emphasizing active learning modalities, in the form of project reviews in progress, alternating with lectures.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final oral examination consists of an individual interview aimed at assessing the knowledge and critical understanding of built architecture (1st Dublin descriptor) in relation to the project. During the interview, communicative skills, learning/reasoning abilities, clarity of exposition, and the use of specific disciplinary terminology will also be evaluated (4th, 5th Dublin descriptors). The application of knowledge will be assessed through project work.
