Course unit partition: LABORATORY OF CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Learning objectives

The course aims to foster the ability to read and understand the relational dynamics operating in the clinical-patient interaction with particular regard to:
- theoretical knowledge of the main clinical-dynamic models
- methodological prerequisites of psychoanalytic observation
- autonomy of judgment and reflective abilities in the development of clinical material.

Prerequisites

Knowledges in Dynamic Psychology and Clinical Psychology.

Course unit content

The laboratory aims to deepen some aspects of the psychological intervention in the clinical field of dynamic orientation (listening, transference-countertransference dynamics, interpretation, etc.) through the exercise on clinical cases.

Full programme

Observation categories of clinical material derived from the main models of clinical psychological intervention of dynamic orientation (historical-reconstructive model, object relations model, relational model, field model): the role of the setting, the role of interpretation, verbal dimensions and preverbal of the transference-countertransference dynamic, the distinction between acting and enactments, the analysis of defenses

Bibliography

The in-depth study of the topics dealt with in the laboratory will take place through the reading of some clinical cases that will be identified and selected with the students and proposed during the lessons.

Teaching methods

Interactive lessons that require the active participation of students, guided practical exercises on clinical cases by reading texts and watching videos to facilitate the acquisition of the ability to apply knowledge to reality, autonomy of judgment and the autonomy in practice

Assessment methods and criteria

The verification, which does not provide for a final grade, involves writing a comment on some clinical sequences following the categories of observation discussed.
