Learning objectives

The course aims to accompany the student towards a "competent" design, administration and interpretation of research in education context, in order to know how to use the results for the self-assessment of the educational/Training Service.
The students, at the end of the course, will be able to:
- to design an empirical research in the educational-formative field;
- to design a training course for improvement, according to phases defined, repassable and reproducible;
- to design evaluation or self-assessment tests, consistent with learning indicators and descriptors;
- to analyse the evaluation tests using statistical indexes;
- to disseminate the results of a self-assessment process, through appropriate reporting;
- to read critically research reports/artichles.

Teaching methods

Dialogical Lessons
Experiential Cycles and project work.
In addition to frontal lessons, group work is envisaged that will allow students to apply concepts and tools related to the design and evaluation steps of educational interventions.

Assessment methods and criteria

1) A structured written test (with an explicit evaluation scale and communicated in advance with respect to the administration of the test).
The test will estimate the achievement of the expected results outlined above in the training objectives section. The test passed with a score equal to or above 18/30 will be considered.

AND

2) A Project work (individually or in groups of up to 3 persons), delivered by e-mail to the teacher. Voting scale 0-30.
The Project work involves the elaboration of an empirical research project
In the educational-formative field.
The design context is freely chosen by the candidate, provided it is in compliance with the criteria illustrated in the course, in the slides and in the reference manuals
