The course is intended to give students competence to a critic insight of romance
medieval literature, above all in its connections with classical literature.

Course unit content
After a brief Introduction about Ovid in Old French Literature of the
XII century, the course's aim is to study the Old French tale of Pyramus and Thisbe ("Piramus et Tisbé") and its relationships with Ovid’s "Metamorphoses", through passages which will be read, translated and analyzed in class.
