Learning objectives

Students are led to acquire skills on pre-Roman Italy, in particular on the Etruscan civilization.

Course unit content

The first lessons concern elements of history anda civilizations of Etruscans. The second part of the course deepens the reality of Etruria padana, in Villanovian and Orientalizing phases. It is contemplated a visit to the area of the archaeological site and the museum of Kainua/Marzabotto (Bologna). The third part introduces language elements anda Etruscan writing with reading and interpretation of some short texts.

Teaching methods

Lessons are frontal in the first module. Exercises will be provided into the second and third module.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final assessment will touch all areas, including the reading and interpretation of a short Etruscan text, already commented at lesson.
