Learning objectives

Learning of the main causes, clinics and differential diagnostics of fever, including fevers of obscure origin Learning and identification of the main liver diseases, classification, clinical pictures and therapeutic orientation. Learning of the main causes of anemia, clinical and therapeutic aspects. Approach to the patient with hemorrhagic manifestations: clinical and therapeutic orientations. Learning of the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of venous and arterial thrombosis with special emphasis on pulmonary thromboembolism and DIC.Approach to the patient with lymphoadenomegaly: clinical aspects, differential diagnosis and classification of the main lymphoproliferative diseases. Approach to peptic ulcer patients: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. Learning of the use of corticosteroids in clinical practice: main indications and contraindications.

Course unit content

Fever: pathophysiology, main causes, fevers of obscure origin. Liver diseases: icterus, acute and chronic hepatitis, cyrrhosis, liver insufficiency.Anemia: anemia classification, main clinical pictures of the anemias (sideropenic, macrocytic-megaloblastic, hemolitic, chronic disease process and refractory) Hemorrhagic diseases: due to platelet deficit, plasma coagulation factor, DIC) Approach to the patient with lymphoadenomegaly: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. Infectious mononucleosis and clinical pictures similar to mononucleosis: clinical and diagnostic aspects. Thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects. Peptic ulcer: clinical pictures, differential diagnosis and treatment. Corticosteroids in medical treatment.
