Learning objectives

The course was designed to develop a comprehensive description of the
phenomenon of the European Union.

Prerequisites

Course unit content

The origins and development of the process of European
integration. The institutional framework. The subdivision of responsibility between
the Union and member States. European union legislation. The relationship
between European Union law and internal law: the direct effect and the primacy of
European Union law. The legislative framework that protects community situations.
External relations. The area of freedom, security and justice.
