Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce students to the study of Law through the historical-systematic reconstruction of the main institutions that form the foundations of our legal system. Students are required to have a good command of both spoken and written Italian in order to achieve the required terminological precision. Knowledge of Latin is helpful but not essential.

Course unit content
The course has as its object the study of Roman law, to provide a systematic historical reconstruction of the main institutions that are the foundation of our legal system.In the first semester (Prof. Gardini) will address the historical introduction, in the second semester (Prof. Beduschi) will address the specific issues.

Attending students will be provided handouts, which will be sufficient for the exam. Non attending student should study the following manual: M. MARRONE, Istituzioni di diritto romano, Palumbo, Palermo, ult. ed.
Teaching methods
Oral lessons. Attending students will be given the option to prepare papers.
