Student tutors

The University provides a tutoring service to support and guide students throughout the Degree Course.


Tutoring is provided by all professors of the Degree Course, as well as by select students chosen through an annual application process.

Student tutor

The student tutor is an experienced student or doctoral or postgraduate student who who offers their expertise to assit those in need.


In particular the student tutor is responsible:

  • for welcoming new students;
  • assisting in the compilation of Programmes of Study;
  • advising on the Course catalog (curriculum, requirements, exams);
  • assisting in the organisation of study and exams;
  • coordinating supplementary teaching activities;
  • providing support in finding information on international mobility and curricular internships, 
  • managing relations with the administrative services.
     

The Law Degree Course provides two types of tutorial activities: general tutoring and tutoring for integrative and preparatory activities and remedial activities.

1) General tutoring

This service provides students with guidance on study methods, exam preparation strategies, study planning, and answers to specific questions related to individual examination programs.


The general tutors, a.y. 2024/2025, are: Valentina Bianchi and Tea Rama.

Tutors are available in-person, at the Tutoring Room (second floor, hallway classrooms - 12th University Street), and/or on the Microsoft Teams platform, according to the schedule set by each individual tutor.

2) Tutoring for integrative and preparatory activities and remedial activities

This service offers assistance to students facing challenges in preparing for and passing exams in specific Course Units.

With the support of tutors, students will be able to refine their study methods, gain clearer understanding of certain sections of the exam syllabus, and enhance their presentation skills.

Internationalisation Tutor

Internationalisation tutors play a key role in supporting internationalisation programmes and projects within the Department.

 Their responsibilities include promoting internationalisation opportunities to students across various courses of study and providing ongoing support to students participating in mobility programmes throughout the academic year.

ER.GO Scholarship Tutor

The Regional Agency for the Right to Education, ER.GO, in collaboration with the University of Parma, provides a tutoring support service in each Department. 

This service aims to help students overcome any difficulties related to study organization and participation in university life that could compromise the continuation of their scholarship.

You can contact your reference tutor, requesting an individual interview, also online, in order to be helped to orient yourself and get targeted information within your degree program.

 

 

Tutor mentoring

The service is aimed at supporting students who are stuck, unmotivated or, simply, to those who want to try to change something in their course of study.
 
Suggestions on study method will be shared with the creation of collective repetition groups, with tutors of a Course Unit.
 
The tutor will work with each student to develop a personalized strategy for managing exams, creating an individualized study plan to optimize available time and resources.
