The course includes a first common year (based at the University of Parma) and a subsequent differentiation, in the second year, in three curricula (specialisations) dedicated respectively to:

1) mitigation / reduction of food risk through predictive methods and control of emerging risks, and minimization of contamination problems along the supply chain and the food production process (at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Piacenza in collaboration with the University of Parma);

2) risk management in production and processing companies, with particular reference to innovative methods and processes and safety assessment of end products (at Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna);

3) agro-food safety in primary production, with particular reference to the crop production sector (at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia).

As from November 2nd the new online platform Elly sicurezza 2023 will become operational.

We enclose instructions to take the course either in Italian or in English.

The course is mandatory for students who want to take the lab activities in presence.

For each course, the student must fill in on the online ESSE3 system the corresponding student survey form before being allowed to take the exam.
The student survey form can be filled in starting from the date when 2/3 of the course classed have been taught. Please fill in early! The earlier, the better, as you will have fresh in your memory the pros and cons of the course. Your evaluations and suggestions will be processed in an anonymous aggregated way and will be published on the University website according to our Quality Assurance Policy. Your opinion counts and helps us make a better University!

The list of teachings in the study plan represents the set of educational activities that can be provided for each of the years of which the course of study consists and changes according to the year of the student's matriculation. The 'free or restricted choice' courses are optional educational activities that the student can include in the study plan according to the choice criteria specified on this page; the remaining courses are mandatory for all students.

The study plan must be submitted online by the student for each year of the course using the ESSE3 system (see dedicated section).

The student is allowed to submit his or her own study plan with choice options different from those presented on this page (and available in ESSE3), as long as it is consistent with the achievement of the course's educational objectives. In this case, the plan must be submitted to the Course Council for approval.

The submission of the study plan is mandatory for all students. The programme of study must be compiled online using the ESSE3 system. To access the ESSE3 system please use your University credentials (such as name.surname@studenti.unipr.it and relative password) issued at the time of enrollment.

The plan must be presented within the following time frame:

Start date: October 16th, 2023

Deadline: December 6th, 2023

After the deadline, changes to the plan are possible, but they must be introduced using the ESSE3 system ONLY within the following time frame:

Start date: January 16th, 2024

Deadline: February 14th, 2024.

A part-time student is a student enrolling in the course or in regular years of study who, for work, health or personal reasons, finds him/herself unable to devote him/herself to full-time studies.

Below are the regulations for the enrolment of part-time students and the programmes of study for part-time enrolled students in the academic year 2021-2022 and earlier years.
 

Regulations for enrolling part-time students 

GENERAL RULES
Italian and foreign citizens not enrolled in courses at the university, even if they already hold a university degree, may enrol in individual course units and sit for the relevant examination, receiving regular certification, for a maximum number of 30 ECTS credits.

PURCHASE OF SINGLE COURSE UNITS FOR THE SECOND-CYCLE DEGREE COURSE IN FOOD SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES - A.Y. 2023-2024
The possibility of enrolling in individual course units and for a maximum number of 30 ECTS credits is permitted, without prejudice to the possibility of increasing the aforementioned number of ECTS credits for justified training needs by the Course Council. The deadline for purchasing individual course units is 09 october 2023 for courses delivered in the first semester and 23 February 2024 for courses delivered in the second semester. For students enrolling in courses involving laboratory activities, it is a prerequisite to be in possession of the Safety Course Certificate issued by the University of Parma.
The purchase of single courses is in no way permitted and conceived as a tool in order to anticipate the times for enrollment in the study course, for which the requirements, methods,and conditions, as well as deadlines established annually,must be met and respected.
