Tto offer the basic knowledge of plants biology at <br />
cytological and systematic level <br />

Course unit content

 Costituents of living organisms: organic and inorganic matter. Autotro- <br />
phic and eterotrophic organisms. Plant metabolism: photosynthesis <br />
and transpiration. Nitrogen and carbon utilization Procariots: Saprofitism <br />
and symbiosis. Rhizobium-legume symbiosis. Eucariots: cell wall, pla- <br />
stids, vacuole. Growth and development of the vegetal cell. Cellu- <br />
lar differentiation. Vegetal tissues and their characteristics. Morphology <br />
and anatomy of the plants. Organography of the vegetables and fun- <br />
ctions. Flowers, fruits and seeds.Products of secondary metabolism: lectin, <br />
glycosides, tannins, alkaloids. <br />
