Teaching methods

Acquisition of knowledge: lectures

Acquisition of the ability to apply analytical methods: active presentations

Acquisition of judgments: active presentations.

Acquisition of learning skills: During the lessons will be introduced the basic theoretical concepts and models of economics and business management, with particular attention to the sector context. One of the problems today is the presentation of changes in business and managerial models due to the digital revolution. The lessons will favor the participation of the students and the critical discussion of the main topics examined.

Acquisition of technical language: Students will also be stimulated to an active learning by the study of cases, by reading scientific articles and by the vision of films having as their object the application of the theoretical knowledge discussed during the lessons to practical problems. Each student will have the opportunity to choose a case study or a scientific article to be presented in small groups. During the presentations, the teacher will facilitate the discussion by the rest of the classroom, making presentations an active and participatory part of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria

To test the knowledge and understanding skills, the ability to apply knowledge, the autonomy of judgment and the ability to learn, the ability to communicate with an appropriate technical language, will be carried out, through written exam, by 3 questions with a score from 0 to 10 each.
The written exam will allow to ascertain both the understanding of the subject from a theoretical point of view, and the ability to reason and apply the theory to practical and real cases.
The grade of the exam will be published on the ESSE3 portal.
As an alternative to the ordinary examination, two partial examinations will be held during the lessons (the first will be held approximately halfway through the course, the second at the end of the course). Each partial test will consist of three questions (one of which will focus on the topics covered by the company witnesses hosted during the course). The final mark will be calculated by averaging the marks achieved in the two partials.
Finally, there will be group work that students may carry out on a voluntary basis. The group work will be graded from 1 to 10 points. This mark will be added to the exam grade, replacing one question in the test (ordinary or intermediate).
More details on group work will be provided during the course.
