Learning objectives

The course aims to promote: theoretical knowledge related to the main
concepts of developmental psychology and educational Psychology in the
field of hospitalization and staff training; understanding of such
issues applied to sanitary field;. to show how
this knowledge can be applied to a professional reality through the use of
survey instruments and development assessment. Finally, the course
aims to foster students’ independent judgment with respect to the
theoretical issues studied and improve their ability to communicate about
the aspects they have investigated and learned.

Course unit content

The course will touch the topic of children's hospitalization, narrative
methodology and projects in health contexts.

Full programme

The content of this course focuses on children's hospitalization. Course
Content:
children'reaction to the illness; relationships between children and
healthcare staff; narrative medicine; relationships between healthcare
staff and psychologist; development of research and training program in
helth contexts.

The educational material will be provided during the course and charged
on platform Elly Medicina.

Teaching methods

The lessons will take place in the presence.
Individual lessons and group works.
In the event that the worsening of the current health emergency (Covid-
19) does not
make it possible the lessons at presence, they will be totally online at
distance in
synchronous and asyncrhonous mode (Teams).

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam provides for the preparation of an individual written report led
by the teacher, starting from the study of topics treated in class.
In this report, students must show:
knowledge acquired;
the ability to apply them to real situations;
the ability to reflect on their experience.
The evaluation of the report, out of thirty, takes place according to the
following criteria:
1) Content skills or how detailed the candidate addresses the topic: up to
10 points
2) Exposing skills, ie how precise is the language used by the candidate
to expose the concepts: up to 10 points
3) Argumentative and reflective skills, that is how consistent and logical
is the concatenation of the concepts exposed and how students apply
them to their experience: up to 10 points.
